Our History
FLORIDA'S OLDEST INVESTMENT FIRM
Allen & Company of Florida was established in 1932 by J. Everett Allen
and George O. Craig as Craig-Allen Company and was located in the Marble Arcade
in downtown Lakeland, Florida. In 1938, Everett Allen purchased George Craig's
interest , renamed the firm Allen & Company and relocated across the street
to 211 East Lemon Street. The firm focused on equities and Florida municipal
bonds.
Over time the firm expanded to eastern Polk County with the establishment
of a sales office in Winter Haven currently located at 250 Avenue K, SW, Suite
106.
In May 1987 a new Lakeland office was built at 1401 South Florida Avenue and
houses the Lakeland financial advisors, as well as all corporate functions. The firm offers investment-related services with a local, hometown philosophy
and attitude toward superior customer service. Financial advisors maintain
expertise in offering various investment choices: stocks, mutual funds, corporate
and municipal bonds, annuities and other insurance-related products, options,
government securities, CD's and unit investment trusts. The use of these investment
choices in meeting a client's financial objectives is tailored on a client-by-client
basis. Allen & Company of Florida is proud to be Florida's oldest established
securities firm.
